Nike is set to launch its PK80 tournament in honor of Phil Knight’s 80th birthday.The tournament will feature three days of double bracket gameplay, with the final match-ups to be completed that Sunday. This year’s tourney will see Arkansas, Butler, Connecticut, Duke, DePaul, Florida, Gonzaga, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Portland, Portland State, Stanford and Texas participant.
During the tourney, each squad is outfitted in both uniforms and footwear that reflect Knight’s personal style. We see his love for all-black outfits and sunglasses translated in a selection of footwear, including Nike’s Kyrie 3, PG1, Kobe AD, and KD 10 models, as well as Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 32 and Super.Fly 2017.
The black theme continues into the uniforms, with black graphics incorporated into each, as well as the jock tag to present a color vs. color aesthetic amongst the teams. The women’s teams of Connecticut, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Oregon will also take part in the celebratory tourney.
Nike’s PK80 Tournament takes place between November 23 and 26 at the Moda Center and Veterans Memorial Coliseum, while the women’s will take place at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon.
