THRiBTh Series ~ Rihanna // Anti

Rihanna revealed her artwork for her upcoming album, “Anti” yesterday at the Los Angeles Mama Gallery. To curate this artwork, Rihanna collaborated with Roy Nachum, an Israeli artist living in New York. Some say that this collaboration has changed the history of album art.rihanna-anti-album-cover-billboard-510_0

The cover features an image of five year old Rihanna holding a black balloon. The crown placed over her eyes and the poem written in Braille by Chloe Mitchell represents the idea that, “Sometimes the ones who have sight are the blindest.”

The album uses the word, “Anti” to define a person opposed to a particular policy, activity or idea.

One exhibit showed that, “By continuing to follow her own instincts, Rihanna’s work strives to make an impact by doing the very antithesis of what the public expects.”

So far, we know of three singles expected to be on the album: FourFiveSeconds, American Oxygen and Bitch Better Have My Money. No new songs were released at the exhibit and a release date for the album has yet to be announced.
